eek, sorry for the grainy pic!
With the exception of my Rub 'n Buff Pumpkins I was able to put this display together with items found around the house. I started with my trusty old window and a simple kraft paper & twine banner I whipped up using my Silhouette.
I added a glitzy gold pumpkin & plate with skeleton key.
The star of the show is my big mercury glass owl. She sits on top of my grandma's old Agatha Christie books - I love any reason to show those off!
My Rub 'n Buff Pumpkins tie everything together!
Are you ready for fall? I sure am! I decided to get a jump on things and start some fall projects this weekend. First up - some new fall door décor!
Here's how I did it:
I used an 18" grapevine wreath form, a package of faux leaves from JoAnn Fabrics and a glittery antique gold R I had in my stockpile. The burlap bow was already on the wreath form. Want to know a secret? I reuse my wreath forms since I almost never reuse a wreath. This form started as my fall wreath last year, then was my Mossy Monogram Wreath this spring & summer. In the end this project cost me a whopping $1 for the leaves.
I layered the leaves, hot gluing as I went. I wanted the leaves to fan out from where the monogram would be so I picked a center point and worked outwards in each direction.
Then I simply hot glued the letter to the leaves and trimmed up the burlap. Ta dah! Not too shabby for $1.
Do you decorate for fall? I know I can't be the only one!

Happy Labor Day! Hopefully none of you have to labor today. :)
I have a serious case of decorating ADD at the moment. Mixed with a side of "more ideas than time". You could be suffering from this (non-deadly & completely made up) disease and not even know it!
Signs & symptoms may include:
-10+ pages full of plans & ideas (mine manifests via PowerPoint)
-"Project supplies" stockpiled in nearly every drawer, closet, etc...
-Sleepless nights caused by the inability to quiet your creative mind
there is no known cure
So what is on top of my list at the moment? The dining room! I mentioned before that we were losing dining chairs left and right recently. Our dining set is older and the chairs just couldn't hold up to regular use. We are down to a chair and a half (meaning one is useable and one is for looks) This is what we've been working with:
sorry friends, you really can't come for dinner
New seating has been ordered and I'm impatiently awaiting its delivery. Check that off the list! Next up - a few fall projects. Then a mini bedroom makeover. Nothing major, just paint, touch-ups and a few diy projects. Then I'll finally finish my office. Then... you see where this is going...
And how cute is this idea?! I'm participating in a Mug Swap over at Girl Meets Camera. I just answered a few quick questions and will get matched with a swap buddy. We'll each shop for a coffee mug for the other and mail them out. So fun! You can join through Sept 11 so check it out!
